The Children’s Nest area will be acoustically and visually separate from the main library space and its one-level design is accessible to all children. The playful corner includes a children’s-only restroom for the convenience of parents and their little ones. Cozy and nooks in the Nest will foster quiet interaction, reading and learning. The ‘Nest’ box is covered with a tree canopy featuring cut out plant and animal motifs from the Methow. The upper canopy will be backlit—a feature all library visitors can enjoy. The rest of the children’s area features its own book collection, space for toys, a child-sized messy desk, furnishings and shelving, and two window seats.
