Year in Review
Over the past two years, we’re proud of how our community "libraries."
We are impressed with the great accomplishments and programming by librarian Murray Sampson, customer service technician Robert Kendall, and the library volunteer team; the overwhelming interest and participation from the community; and the work of the FOWL board and our amazing volunteers.
Some FOWL and library highlights:
1,153 patrons participated in some form of library programming, including live music, story time, lectures, workshops, etc.
Almost 100 events for kids and teens in the library
The breath of community room programming — from ukelele practice and non-profit board meetings, to a fire insurance seminar and photography capturing the war in Ukraine… and much more
Rooftop solar, at zero cost to the Town of Winthrop & EV chargers!
An ADA-accessible entry, improved outdoor seating
An Outdoor Library, with fire-resistant landscaping, both on display and with instructive panels

THE SOLAR ARRAY IS COMPLETE!
Fun fact: During its first year of operation the solar project is projected save $8,800 dollars in electricity costs.
Over the thirty years of project operation the system is projected to save the town $460,900 dollars.
